The Historic Park, including the grounds and front lawn of the Mansion, is open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., unless closed for a private event. Please check our calendar for closures before planning your visit.
Mansion exterior: Permits/reservations are not required for any exterior photography for personal use or by professional portrait photographers (including family photos, senior photos, engagement photos or student projects). However, permits/reservations are required at least seven days in advance for commercial use, including but not limited to, catalog shoots, commercials, professional videos, and images intended for wholesale or resale use. Commercial photographers wishing to shoot photo or video on the Mansion property must contact staff first at 303-791-0177 or sappleby@highlandsranch.org.
Photography on the grounds cannot interfere with other park patrons, scheduled programs including open hours, or private events. Please note that during open hours photography sessions are not allowed on the front steps or verandas, as these can block general visitor access to the house. Photography is allowed from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. unless the grounds are closed for a private event. Please check our calendar for closures before planning your shoot. Photographers must comply with park rules and regulations.

Historic tours: The Mansion offers free self-guided and guided historic tours during daytime and evening open hours throughout the month. Learn about past owners of the Mansion, architectural details of the house and our community’s history.
Venue tours: The Mansion is the perfect place to host weddings, receptions, holiday parties, anniversaries and other life celebrations. Our sales and event coordinator can provide tours and answer any questions you have about renting the Mansion for an upcoming event.
Our sales and event coordinator can check any dates you are interested in and confirm availability. A date can be placed on hold for up to five business days with no obligation. Excluding service animals, animals are not allowed on the Mansion grounds or inside the Mansion.
No outside alcohol is permitted on Mansion property, and any alcohol during events must be purchased through the Mansion.
The Highlands Ranch Mansion is a Highlands Ranch Metro District property. The Metro District is the local government of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and provides a variety of municipal services to the planned community of 98,000 people. Learn more about the Metro District at highlandsranch.org.
The Mansion was built in 1891, however at that time the home began as a small stone farmhouse built by Samuel Allen Long. Subsequent owners expanded and renovated the building, turning it into the Mansion we know today.
