During the long winter months, the people during the time would use what they could to have fun outside. The children of Frank Kistler had 22,000 acres to run and play on. They would go ice skating, sledding, and skiing on the hills near the Mansion. Their version of ice skates were skates that just clamped onto your shoes. They also had sledges which were used to move heavy things while farming that they used as a form of sledding. These are similar to the things kids still do today right?
