Respecting the Land
The ranch house was once a simple residence surrounded by thousands of acres of ranch land with little to separate the home from the livestock. As the ranch expanded and owners became wealthier, an estate was created to support the operations and complement the impressive stone castle that appeared on the prairie.
Much of what can be experienced by visitors today was in place by the middle of the 20th century. As the Mansion is approached from the north, the manicured lawns and regal landscape convey the message that this is a place of significance and beauty. Stroll the grounds and think of a time many years ago when a visit to the Highlands Ranch Mansion was a trip to the country to escape the fast pace of Denver.
